Chaz Abbott wins Race 7, and the 2011 Open Pocketbike Champioship. Thalia Dionosio wins Race 7 of the 2011 season.

What a beautiful day for racing “The Back Lot Brawl”, as a storm passed through before dawn and kept the temperatures in the low 60′s, with plenty of sunshine.
Jason Blais wins the 2.5 Beginner Cup Championship after four consecutive wins in the second half of the 2011 season.
Chaz Abbott stretches his lead in the Semi-Pro Championship by winning the “Back Lot Brawl”.

A beautiful night of racing for the 5th round of the season. The upset of the Semi-Pro pokectbike season was when Joe Wheeler ran out fuel, giving relinquishing first place, in the race, and in the championship, to Chaz Abbott

Joe Wheeler takes the Open Bike Class Championship, for 2010, after winning the prestigious “Back Lot Brawl”.

Congratulations to 14 year old Chaz Abbott for obtaining his CCS racing license. Chaz will be racing on a Suzuki SV650.

SMRS members compete at the SCminiGP season finale at the Grange Motor Cicuit, in Apple Valley California. Joe Wheeler takes first place in the open pocket bike class. Chaz Abbott takes second place and Kolby Martin finishes fourth. Jacob Blais finishes fourth in the Mini GP class, and sixth in the Mini GP Youth shifter class. Races are available to view on our race video page.

Chaz Abbott takes his first win in the Open Bike Class. After a fantastic start (see video), Abbott was able to keep his momentum, leaving Wheeler one opportunity to make the pass in turn 8. Wheeler overdrove the corner in his attempt, and was unable to catch Abbott on the last lap.
Jacob Blais wins another one for the Lost Boys team in the Unlimited Featherweight Class, and now leads the championships points.

Joe Wheeler, Chaz Abbott, and Kolby Martin, are running both the USMP Southwest Minimoto Race Series and the Polini Cup this year. Their combined duties have them racing eleven months out of the year; quite a feat on the amatuer level. But then, these are no amatuers, finishing in the top three positions, race in, and race out, in both race series’. There shouldn’t be any doubt that Arizona has some of the best talent, and race tracks, in the country. Joe Wheeler’s winning streak is broken in the Senior Open Bike Class, as Eric Nervig makes his comeback by taking the win.
Nate Moore is undefeated in the Junior Open Bike Class.
The closeet championship points race is in the Unlimited Featherweight Class with only ten points seperating the top three riders.
Jacob Blais takes his first win in the Unlimited Featherweight Class.
Thalia Dionisio becomes the first female rider in the Southwest Minimoto Race Series. With a lot of promising talent, her future looks strong in the Unlimited Featherweight Class.

Joe Wheeler is undefeated with three straight wins in the Open Bike class.
Brian Odell shears a pinion gear after running second in the Open Bike Main.
Kolby Martin moves up to third in the Championship points after finishing second in the Open Bike Main.
2/13/10
Eric Nervig drops to third in the Championship points after shearing a pinion gear in Race 2.
Disaster strikes in the SW Minimoto Motard race as all six riders go down in the dirt! No one was injured.
Closest finish was in the SMRS Featherweight Main with a 19/100 of a second between Michael Yacoub and Elias Yacoub, as Elias finishes 2nd following a bad start.
