Contractual Agreements:
They are required to sign, and fulfill, a seasonal contract, which can be renewed each year, until the age of 18.
Responsibility:
They are required to maintain the equipment they are entrusted with under the organization’s supervision.
Discipline and Respect:
They learn the value of following rules, and are discouraged for not following rules. They learn respect for others, and are working together for the same goal.
Safety:
They learn about potential hazards in a safe environment, and have the confidence to speak to their peers in the real world about unsafe actions and conditions.
Science and Engineering:
They learn principles of physics, chemistry, and dynamic motion. They test, gather and analyze information, on the performance of their bikes. They learn the concept of variables and gain tools for defining them.
Learning Tools:
They learn tools and techniques for advancing their education.
Asset and Liability Management:
They learn to operate within a budget by earning credit money for participating and working in the program. They use their credit money for maintaining, repairing, and upgrading their equipment.
Team Work:
They exchange their talents with each other, in an effort to achieve the same goal.
Strategy:
They learn to develop short term and long term goals.
Promoting and Marketing:
They gain the ability to promote and market their own talents and skills, as well as promoting the organization.
If you teach a young person life principles through their interests, they will achieve a greater determination to learn, more responsibility, and ultimately wisdom.
